Land Area: 1.029 m²
Total building area: 150 m²
The building form was designed so that it blends in the surrounding natural & built environment with a material choice that emphasises the outline of the house, enhances the individual volumes and allows it to merge into the softly landscaped outdoor space.
At the southwest side of the site, the semi-open space of the building along with the tall pergolas and their stone clad vertical supports against the main building located towards the north create a sunbathed but protected from inclement weather outdoor space, necessary in a family home.
The building consists of large glazed areas interrupted by solid walls mainly in the north façade, which provide its structural stability as well as the function of its indoor space, allowing the house an individual architectural character.
At the south elevation the first floor slab cantilevers 4m out of the footprint of the house forming the largest projection over the living space glassing offering the necessary protection from the weather especially from the sun.
